PageShot is a Chrome extension that captures full web pages and exports them as PNG, JPEG, or PDF files. PageShot is designed to process captures locally on the user's device.
Information PageShot Handles
PageShot handles the following information only after the user explicitly starts a capture:
- Website content: The visible visual content of the active web page, processed to create the requested screenshot.
- Web browsing activity: The active page URL and page title, used to identify the capture, display the source in the result view, and create a useful filename.
- Extension preference: The user's English or Turkish interface language selection.
PageShot does not collect names, email addresses, account credentials, authentication data, health information, financial information, precise location, personal communications, analytics, advertising identifiers, or behavioral profiles.
How Information Is Used
- Capture and stitch the active web page after the user requests it.
- Display the capture preview and source information.
- Export the capture as a PNG, JPEG, or PDF file selected by the user.
- Remember the user's interface language preference.
Local Processing and Retention
Page captures, page titles, and URLs are processed locally within the Chrome extension. They are not transmitted to the developer or any external server. Raw capture tiles are kept temporarily in extension memory during capture and are discarded after the preview has been assembled. The completed preview remains only in the open result tab and is released when that tab is closed. Files are saved only when the user selects a download option.
The language preference is stored locally through chrome.storage.local and remains until the user changes it, clears the extension's data, or removes the extension.
Sharing, Selling, and Third Parties
PageShot does not sell, rent, share, or transfer user data to third parties. PageShot contains no analytics, advertising, tracking, user accounts, remote code, or external data-processing services. The developer cannot access or view users' captures.
Chrome Permissions
- activeTab: Temporary access to the active tab only after the user starts a capture.
- scripting: Runs the packaged capture script to measure and scroll the active page, then restores its original state.
- downloads: Saves the PNG, JPEG, or PDF selected by the user.
- storage: Stores only the English or Turkish interface language preference.
Data Security
Because PageShot does not transmit captured data, page content is not exposed to a PageShot server. Processing takes place inside the browser using Chrome extension APIs. Users should still take care when saving or sharing captures that contain sensitive information.
User Control
Capturing begins only after the user clicks Capture full page or invokes the PageShot keyboard shortcut. Users can close the result tab without saving, delete downloaded files, change the language preference, or remove PageShot from Chrome at any time.
Children's Privacy
PageShot is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated if PageShot's functionality or legal requirements change. The updated effective date will be shown at the top of this page.
